For Medical Directors

Supervising injectors: a setup checklist

The operational pieces worth having in place before you take on — or grow alongside — the injectors you support.

1. Before you start: scope & credentials

  • Confirm each injector’s credentials, training, and current registration are on file.
  • Define exactly which treatments each injector may perform under your supervision.
  • Agree the conditions and any limits that apply to each treatment.

2. How cases reach you

  • Decide how injectors submit a consultation — photos, medical history, and the treatments planned.
  • Set what a complete case must contain before you’ll review it.
  • Agree response expectations: who is notified, and how quickly.

3. Reviewing & issuing directives

  • Decide how you record a decision on each treatment — approve, decline (with a reason), or request a consult.
  • Define how directives are signed, stored, and retrieved later.
  • Set how long an approval stays valid, and whether repeat treatments of the same service may clear automatically.
  • Decide how a change in the client’s medical history triggers a fresh review.

4. Records & audit readiness

  • Keep a permanent, time-stamped record of every decision and who made it.
  • Preserve the medical record as it stood at the time of each case.
  • Plan how long records are retained and who can access the audit trail.

5. Keep it running

  • Review case volumes and usage per injector.
  • Revisit the approved-treatment list and your policies periodically.
  • Make sure communication and escalation paths are clear to everyone.

This is operational guidance, not legal advice. Supervision requirements vary by province and regulator — always confirm what applies to you with your College and jurisdiction.

Want this built in, not bolted on?

InjecTeam turns every item above into the way the app already works — per-treatment review, signed directives, standing-directive policy, and a permanent audit history.
